When you reflect on your life there are certain events you find life-changing. Attending the Rock Church of India’s Festival of Jesus held in January of 2019 was one such event for me. The annual festival held in Rajahmundry, India, displayed the power and love of God including the ability of a church to have a major impact on a community.
The structure and traditions of contemporary Christian services have been birthed out of very similar traditions of the Early Church. These traditions have been handed down from age to age and are synonymous with Christian soteriology.
Meet Rammanamma.
In 2014, she gave her pastor, 4,000 Rupees (approx. $61), and asked him to use that money for her funeral expenses.
She was attending the Lent street meetings after being invited by a Church member. You see, she had just received a Bible and wanted to read it and learn more about Jesus, but there was just one problem — she was illiterate.
